History of Central Cascade Youth Football and Cheer

History

Central Cascade Youth Football and Cheer (CCYFC) started over 15 years ago in the area as Central Cascade Pop Warner (CCPW). At the time a group of parents wanted to make sure that their athletes had the safest and most competitive way to perform and excel in the sports their children loved. The closest Pop Warner league in the area was Inland Northwest Pop Warner League (INPWL). So, the relationship was formed. Over the years the League and Pop Warner have gone through several changes. The only way our athletes could move on to the next level was to go to the Pop Warner championships in Florida. Over the past four years INPWL, along with other Pop Warner leagues throughout the country have deviated from the Pop Warner Championship brackets to make sure our athletes could continue on to post season play. Some of the challenges in doing this was the Pop Warner specific rules that other youth leagues did not follow. For over two years INPWL has had conversations about the best avenue for our athletes. In early 2021 it was decided to make our league more competitive with other leagues and better prepare our athletes for the high school level we would need to leave Pop Warner. In this transition, we did keep most of the core principles that separated our league from other youth football and cheer leagues in the area. Player safety, Couch certification, background checks, team weight and age farness certifications, every athlete performs, trained and certified referees. These and many more rules that our parents and athletes have come to rely on over the years have not and will not change.
